Going away

Mon Dec 14, 2009, 10:28 PM
Well, I've decided to leave dA. I don't know if it's permanent, but I'm definitely leaving. It has nothing to do with anything here, or anything connected to anything here to any extent whatsoever. It is simply something I have decided to do with my life in connection to a general change. I might come back sometime in the future, but that's totally undetermined and I most likely will not. I'm sorry I couldn't give more notice, or even really say goodbye on an individual level, but I am more or less trying to start anew, and that requires me to do a full stop and start over.

Bye guys, I'll miss you.

Art hopefully coming

Sun Dec 13, 2009, 11:04 AM
Well, the Speech and debate year continues, and my team has made some serious improvements, I've taken 3rd and 2nd at a few tournaments (not 1st yet, it's pissing me off) And at the varsity level our team has been doing great, and we have been carrying tournaments like we are used to again. Which brings me to the purpose of this journal; with less of my focus on speech and debate I may soon begin doing art. My school's art annual art magazine hasn't been getting submissions, and being that I help run the thing, I'm going to try to bring it back to life.

Any suggestions as for what I should do?

Whitman

I am currently at whitman College in Walla Walla for a speech and debate tournament. It is fun, but my team hasn't done to well thus far. None of us broke to the finals, which we were hoping for, and our team has about a 500 record overall in LD. It's not bad per say, but my team is used to carrying entire tournaments with ease, and we were frustrated by getting hit with odd judging paradigms which prevented us from winning a lot of rounds we probably should have won.

School is going well

Mon Sep 21, 2009, 6:33 PM
I'm getting good grades, and classes don't seem that hard thus far.

Beyond that, I may, and may being the key word here, ask someone out to homecoming this year. So that's a big change over last few years.

Also, I got a few new games recently, and they have both proven to be completely and totally awesome. The first one I got was Company of Heroes, which is a really cool WWII RTS that is really interesting and has a really surprising amount of depth for it's genre. The campaign for this game is really fun, it's got great AI, and it proves to be a real challenge (fucking panzers, so damn powerful). And on top of it all, it's an extremely fun multiplayer game, with lots of neat potential for me and my friends at school to play with. THe second game, which I only got the demo for, is Batman Arkam Asylum, which dare I say it is one of the most fun 3rd person stealth action games I have EVER played. It easily is the best superhero game I've ever played. The combat in it is kickass, the stealth is really fun and intuitive, and the most interesting part is, it blends both the combat and the stealth PERFECTLY, something which is damn near impossible to do for most other games.
